RIIA’s Summer Conference – How To Get There, Where To Stay

RIIA®’s Summer Conference in Salem, Minding the Gaps: Mapping Compliance Solutions for The DOL’s Fiduciary Rule and Beyond...,” will take place July 17 – 18, 2017, at Salem State University (SSU) in Salem, MA, 20 miles north of Boston. Register now (Early Bird discounts available until April 30th).

The conference will open with a presentation of our CTR Research Program paper by Patrick Collins, Principal, Collins Schultz, and Francois Gadenne, RIIA Executive Director, who co-authored the paper. The CTR (Curve, Triangle, and Rectangle) research samples historical professional and academic literature on investment, wealth and retirement planning to highlight the widely varied recommendations for retirement planning. It makes observations that help resolve contradictions which occur from the evolution of retirement planning research and suggests a new direction for on-going research and professional practices.

And that’s just the beginning. Read why Michael Kitces calls this the Best Conference On Retirement Planning: RIIA Summer Conference 2017“.

SSU is a 25-minute drive from Boston’s Logan Airport or a short local train or bus ride from Boston. SSU is 5 minutes by taxi from Salem train station.  From Boston’s main train stations, depending upon traffic, the journey by car/taxi is a minimum of 40 mins and may take an hour or more.

In addition to hotels listed by the Salem Chamber of Commerce, last year’s conference attendees enjoyed:
The Hotel Hawthorne (About 1.9 miles from SSU)
The Salem Waterfront Hotel (About 1.8 miles from SSU)
The Coach House Inn (B&B, 0.5 miles from SSU)

SSU’s basic dormitory suites are also available for a very reasonable per night fee.  Suites are limited, so we encourage you to make reservations early.  For more information, email housing@salemstate.edu or call 978.542.6416.  The dormitory is right next to the Enterprise Center, where the conference will take place.

If you have not yet registered for the event, register here.

Sponsorship opportunities are available.

Note if you are an RMA® graduate: The conference will be followed by an RMA Master Class, July 19 – 20 (open to RMAs and non-RMAs). The Master Class will deliver in-depth lectures on directed topics in a face-to-face environment. We recommend attending the Conference as preparation for the Master Class.
